We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of a Mechanical Technicians and service persons for inland mines Mechanical Conveyor Maintenance Team preferably with Skirt, roller, scraper experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Mechanical Supervisor and will be highly motivated, eager to develop and enjoy working in an inclusive team environment.
About the role
We are currently seeking a technician to join our Conveyor Maintenance team on the family friendly dynamic roster consisting of 182 shifts on yearly bases. The following are, but not limited to, specific requirements of this role.
- Complete allocated maintenance tasks as per shutdown scheduling plans.
- Follow documented maintenance procedures and instructions.
- Operate mobile equipment forklift/telehandler.
- Perform Scraper rebuilds, roller changeouts, hard & soft skirt changeouts, remote controlled Conveyor inspections and executing Shutdown preparations
- Undertake housekeeping and inspections.
- Participate in safe start and other operational meetings as required.
- Undertake training as required to gain new skills.
- Assist in upskilling other personnel when required.
- Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence.
- Work with computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, 1SAP and FIORI.
- Maintain a high level of consistency in all parts of the role.
- Work in a team dynamic.
- Meet KPIs set by the leadership team.
- Potential to develop as leader within BHP with growth opportunities.
About You
As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following:
- A strong focus on operating discipline in line with BOS practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to recognize patterns in problems and to apply robust problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude and/or logical reasoning driving resulting actions or decisions.
- Good understanding of quality control and the implications regarding the operation of an automated process.
- Ability to identify, report and rectify workplace hazards.
- Task focused with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient or fast learner in 1SAP and Microsoft suite.
- Processing or conveyor maintenance experience highly desirable.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating teams will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ensuring all work practices are reflective of our Charter Values.

- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment is desirable but not necessary.
