About the Role

We are seeking your expression of interest for one Shift Production Supervisor role at our Kwinana Nickel Refinery, and to be part of our journey in becoming the leading producer of high quality nickel products and the biggest global producer of nickel sulphate. Shift Production Supervisors are empowered and entrusted to lead the shift operations teams in safely operating our refinery and control the processes of turning our nickel feed stock into pure, high quality nickel products.

Reporting to the area specific Production Superintendent - Reduction, the Shift Production Supervisor role will include leading a team of 11 process technicians to operate the production processes, including but not limited to nickel reducing, powder handling, and furnace operation. You will be responsible for executing the production plan on a shift-to-shift basis. As a supervisor, you will have strong leadership skills and ability to positively influence our safety culture.  Leading by example, being proactive and prioritising Field Leadership activities, will be critical to your success.

Our shift production supervisors are supported in learning the operating process flow design and understanding the operating standards, procedures and work instructions that set the foundation for us to achieve our safety and production goals. Our shift production supervisor roles currently function on a shift rotation sportsperson’s roster (i.e. 2D2N5X 2D3N4X 3D2N5X). Being based in close proximity to the Perth Metropolitan area, we believe that this roster is overall family-friendly and allows families to spend quality time together and balance their work and personal life commitments.

In addition, you will play a key role by:

  • Managing the day-to-day control and supervision of the Reduction Area
  • Lead by example and oversee the day-to-day operations of the production team.
  • By routine, personal inspection and daily interactions, monitor performance of equipment and compliance with operating procedures.
  • Maximise compliance with the operational plan by ensuring that all activities under the supervisor's control are carried out in accordance with the operation plan and work instructions.
  • Manage workloads and allocate duties across the production team to deliver the plan and ensure all development targets are achieved

  • Meet the conditions of a section 26 statutory supervisor
  • A background in leading a team in a frontline supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated experience working in production environment
  • Demonstrate managing multiple conflicting priorities and strong decision-making skills to achieve the best outcome for crews and production in the short and long term
  • Collaborative relationship building and negotiation skills to engage others and work on accountability
  • Sound computer literacy with exposure to interpreting shift metrics to drive optimal production behaviors
  • Support and grow a culture of diversity and personal development within the team
  • Ability to inspire and develop operators including those new to industry
  • Your ability to communicate, engage and build trust with your team will help you deliver on your commitments and will position you well for future career opportunities
