Emeco are currently seeking a suitably experienced (HME) Short Term Maintenance Planner to join our dynamic team based in Gunnedah. Working a Monday to Friday roster, but site travel is encouraged as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a rolling current week plus 2 maintenance plans for all completed works in a region, ensuring equipment operational availability and integrity. This includes labor, parts, services, and tooling requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities encompassing major components, scheduled services, defect prioritization, inspections, and minor repairs. Utilize AMT (CMMS) for accurate data entry during and after execution.
  • Review and accept forecasted Major Component Tasks provided by the Central Long Term Planning team. Coordinate scheduling of required minor components, parts, labor, resources (e.g., cranes), and logistics.
  • Review all asset Statutory requirements and collaborate with service providers to ensure on-site and on-time completion, maintaining compliance.
  • Manage parts requisitions with Emeco DC Team for major and non-major component work scopes, including PM Service kits, before the required on-site date.
  • Schedule and provide feedback on Condition Monitoring workorders raised in AMT (CMMS) by the Central Asset team.
  • Develop estimations for breakdown requirements within the components and/or labor of the schedule.
  • Report Early Failures and possible warranty situations to the Central Asset Team, gathering requested information and compiling it into AMT (CMMS).
  • Close off work orders upon job completion and update component details in the CMMS (AMT) upon completion.
  • Engage with Maintenance team to enhance defect recording and management, ensuring production targets are met.
  • Collaborate with Regional Rental/Maintenance teams to ensure works align with customer requirements and constraints.
  • Monitor SOS Oil analysis results and coordinate actions to maintain equipment health. Investigate trends and liaise with Leading Hands and/or Project Managers.
  • Track undercarriage wear on track machines, creating wear profiles for cost analysis and scheduled replacements.
  • Ensure equipment files on Great Plains and Emeco Operating System (EOS) are up to date and reflective of equipment condition. This includes component change out forms, defect registers, statutory inspections, brake steering tests, PM service documentation, and inspections (including 1000hr machine checks).
  • Prepare maintenance work packs with required documentation for use by the workgroup.
  • Coordinate overall maintenance service delivery for cost-effective, high quality, and timely provision meeting customer requirements.
  • Communicate with Project Managers and Supervisors regarding day-to-day activities, work order control, and cost management.
  • Support maintenance teams in executing related activities to maintain equipment to a high standard.
  • Provide clarity and direction supporting the effective performance of integrated operations or functions, considering timing, budget, and delivery options.

 Required skills/experience and attributes:

  • Experience in maintenance of heavy mobile earth moving equipment, in particular CAT, Hitachi, and Komatsu; Trade Background preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance scheduling.
  • Effective planning and organising skills with the ability to deliver on simultaneous projects with competing priorities.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven ability to foster strong working relationships.
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience utilising computer programs including AMT (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
