We are looking for a HME Maintenance Short Term Planner to build and maintain schedule planned maintenance activities for Weipa Heavy Equipment Workshops.
This role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual. Working a 5 Day week roster and reporting to the Specialist HME- Bauxite, you will be responsible for:
- Plan preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities in line with production requirements for HME maintenance.
- Maintain accurate SAP system data
- Ensuring targets are consistently delivered in a sustainable way with maximum customer satisfaction
- Key stakeholder for providing explanations on actual over and under spend as per month end process.
- Delivering operational excellence through continual improvement work: maintenance efficiencies; quality; process and procedures; business improvement.
- Interpret and report work management metrics to highlight areas of impact and opportunity including Backlog, Forward Log, and Task Lists.
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Understanding of maintenance management principles and work management systems
- Strong computer literacy
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Prior experience and detailed knowledge of SAP system and MS Suite
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Previous experience working as a HME Maintenance Short Term Planner
- Technical background in HME (Caterpillar)

Where you will be working
Rio Tinto Aluminium – Weipa Operations
Our Weipa Operations includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tonnes of bauxite.
Our operations are supported by a 1,900-strong workforce—including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management.
The development of our new mine, Amrun, which was completed in 2018, will extend the life of our Weipa bauxite operations by decades to come and significantly build on our 55-year history on the Western Cape.
