About the role: We are currently accepting applications for Shot Firers at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture.
Our Coppabella Moorvale Mine Complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. Reporting to the Blast Supervisor, the role will assist in running the blast program on site.
Duties will include:
- Demonstrate safe behaviours and provide visible safe leadership to team members
- Fulfill statutory Shot firer requirements at the mine
- Conduct blast area controller activities as required
- Audits against company standards
- Magazine keeping and facilities management
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 7 Day on and 7 Day off roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or salary sacrificed FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you:
- Licensed Shot Firer, QLD Coal
- Appointed Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3, G2 or equivalent)
- Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry
- At least 4 years’ experience in a blast department
- Possess well-developed communication and influencing skills
- commitment to safety as a way of life
- Desirable certificate 4 in training & assessing
