Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8 days on 6 days off - FIFO ex Busselton and Perth
Key accountabilities will include:
- Conduct priming, loading, stemming, tie in of blast patterns to achieve the daily loading and blasting objectives in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure that handling of explosives and blasting activities are complied to WA Dangerous Goods Safety Act and Fortescue Explosive and Blast Management Plans
- Conduct magazine keeper and appointed shotfirer duties
- Provide on bench training, coaching & mentoring to Blast Crew around Blasting Processes
- Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader etc) in accordance with FMG Policies and Procedures
Qualifications and skills required:
- Experience working in a similar role
- Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
- Western Australian Shotfirer Ticket or mutually recognised equivalent
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- Willing to work in a hot, humid and dusty environment
- WA C Class Driver's Licence
- Ancillary mobile equipment operation in mining industry desirable
