Whitehaven Coal are seeking experienced Shotfirers to coordinate the Drill and Blast activities at Maules Creek Mine. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee drilling, loading and firing of shots
  • Supervise and allocate work team resources to manage all Drill & Blast activities
  • Conduct safe blasting operations and ensure a safe work area is maintained
  • Provide support to Drill & Blast crew and conduct regular safety briefings


Who are we looking for?

Shotfirers with a demonstrated commitment to safety and visible work practices and provision of fair and supportive leadership.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Blasting explosives user licence
  • Shot firing tickets or relevant experience in an open cut pit
  • Live local to the Gunnedah area or willingness to relocate
  • Ability to work a 7/7 roster  
  • Current Drivers Licence
