Shotfirers

About the role:

We are currently seeking Shotfirers at our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex. The mine consists of three open-cut operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

Reporting to the Blast Supervisor, the incumbent will assist in running the blast program on site along with the following duties.

Duties will include:

• Demonstrate safe behaviours and provide visible safe leadership to team members
• Fulfil the statutory Shotfirer requirements for the mine
• Ordering and receiving of bulk explosive product
• Managing inventory levels of explosive accessories
• Compliance with statutory requirements around storage and product accounting
• Security management of the reload and magazine
• Audits against company standards
• Magazine keeping

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 7/7 day/night rotating roster which can allow for a residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:

• Commitment to safety as a way of life
• Licensed QLD Open cut Shotfirer
• Current Queensland Explosive Security Clearance
• Appointed Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a blast department
• Possess well-developed communication skills and confidence in your knowledge of drill and blast practices
• Desirable but not essential, Certificate IV in Training and Assessing
