Shutdown Coordinator - Mechanical

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people

Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex Perth (Wednesday to Wednesday)

Role overview:

To be successful, the shutdown team must work closely with others within the wider operation, and business to ensure the plant remains reliable, with an ongoing focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Your role will be to collaboratively work with internal stakeholders and our vendor partners, managing high volumes of maintenance tasks from planning through to execution, to ensure delivery of safe and successful shutdown campaigns.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Demonstrate a strong safety commitment in line with the Fortescue values
• Plan shutdown execution framework within a planning rhythm, working closely with asset owners, planning department and shutdown schedulers
• Develop resource requirements and engage vendor partners for all shutdown outages
• Manage asset reliability with maintenance tasks by engaging with the asset owners and planning against budgetary requirements
• Management of vendor resources ensuring safety of personnel, quality of work completed and managing completion against planned and scheduled maintenance, and review and optimise shutdown scopes
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives in between shutdowns

Education and Experience: 

• Previous experience in shutdowns and mechanical maintenance within a fixed plant processing facility leading trade personnel, and Mechanical Trade Qualification is required
• Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large scale processing plant
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
• Ability to work cohesively in a highly dynamic team environment
• Demonstrate excellent time management, and the ability to meet deadlines and milestones
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft office and computerised maintenance management systems, SAP experience is desirable
