Shutdown Mechanical Planner

Work Location: Hedland Operations. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 4D/3R - residential in Port Hedland

Role overview:

Develop and manage mechanical maintenance plans and schedules to be integrated into the master shutdown schedule, liaising with mechanical supervisors internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure that labour capacity and execution team loading is in line with available resources for upcoming plant outages .

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare work schedules for areas of responsibility and assign and communicate priorities
  • Developing both short and long-term maintenance plans on new and existing assets
  • Develop long term maintenance plans for Mechanical assets
  • Creating and managing systems data for Mechanical assets and department
  • Continuous improvement of Planning/Scheduling to assist with shutdown management processes

Education and Experience: 

  • Mechanical fitter trade qualification or equivalent preferred 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience in maintenance planning/scheduling using Computer Maintenance Management System - SAP
  • Shutdown Planning/Scheduling, Work Package creation and Master Data creation experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated use of MS Excel, Outlook and Project in shutdowns
