About the role

We are looking for an experienced Shutdown Planner to help us excel at safely maintaining our assets at our Port Hedland maintenance operations, through effective preparation and delivery of maintenance shutdown schedules.
The purpose of this role is the plan and schedule major shutdown and regular down days maintenance, while following Rio Tinto’s Shutdown Maintenance Process, and therefore the ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of shutdown processes.

Reporting to the Senior Planner, working locally in Port Hedland on a 5 days on; 2 days off / 4 days on; 3 days off roster within in a challenging and exciting environment within the Maintenance Team, you will be:
- Developing an annual shutdown calendar that captures all major maintenance and project work planned
- Managing SAP system to support the shutdown annual plan
- Applying the Rio Tinto shutdown process and govern compliance to it
- Prioritising work with the Supervisors, Superintendents, and external departments, utilising your considerable stakeholder and relationship building skills
- Work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure there is effective communication of the plans
- Ensuring targets are consistently delivered in a sustainable/ timely manner and with maximum customer satisfaction.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Demonstrated skills in maintenance planning or scheduling
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Experienced with the use of MS Project and building Gantt charts
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office including Excel
- A current Australian driver's license (manual)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple work targets
- Can do attitude with problem solving skills, logical thinking and sound decision making
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
