Position: Shutdown Scheduler

Work Location: Chichester Hub – Christmas Creek

Roster: FIFO 4D3R roster Site based

Reporting to the Shutdown Coordinator, as the Shutdown Scheduler you will be required to develop and manage all shutdown scheduling activities for FMG Christmas Creek Iron Ore Operation.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Review maintenance work orders within the CMMS shutdown revisions for scope accuracy, also leading communications with key stakeholders, maintenance coordinators, engineering/reliability departments, operations, maintenance vendors
  • Optimise efficiency within the schedule through problem solving and field knowledge to ensure work is scheduled in the most efficient and safe manner possible
  • Assist in continuous improvement of information management including planning, scheduling and other shutdown processes and standards
  • Develop and maintain Shutdown schedules with SAP – MSP software integration 
  • Maintain and track shutdown schedules during execution phase, communicating progress reports, evaluating critical path tasks, working closely with shutdown coordinators and area team leads to determine lagging and problem areas, recommending remedial actions to resolve any deviations from planned activities
  • Assist in the identification of long range shutdown deliverables and key checkpoints for the planning and scheduling cycle
  • Facilitate and present meetings relating to shutdown preparedness and Execution such as Readiness meeting, Shutdown updates, Pre-shutdown Interaction Meetings
  • Develop resourcing requests with key stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient execution of shutdown works

Qualifications and skills required

  • Minimum Requirement – Previous Experience in Plant Maintenance or Project Management. Mechanical/Electrical Trade Qualified highly regarded.
  • Experience in the use of MS Office Suite – (MS project, Excel, Visio and Word)
  • Strong background in fixed plant maintenance and Iron Ore production processes
  • Experience in shutdown scheduling and execution processes
  • Experience with SAP application highly regarded
  • Shutdown Maintenance Planning or fixed plant Supervisor experience highly regarded
  • Strong Presentation and Communication skills
  • Ability to respond to challenges that arise during planning and execution phases.
