Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D/6R ex Perth
Reporting to the Shutdown Superintendent, this critical site-based role plays a key part in the successful delivery of large-scale shutdown events within a complex magnetite processing operation.
Working within a high-performing Shutdown Team, you will coordinate the shutdown readiness activities that enable safe, efficient, and reliable shutdown delivery. From workforce mobilisation and contractor coordination through to shutdown facilities, resource and accommodation engagement, equipment, and cost management, you will help ensure every shutdown is set up for success.
Supporting major 240-hour shutdowns and modular 288-hour shutdowns involving up to 1,200 personnel, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive shutdown professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys coordinating the many moving parts that underpin successful execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate workforce, equipment, and vendor mobilisation requirements to support the safe and successful delivery of major shutdown events.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure shutdown readiness requirements are achieved.
- Liaise with vendor partners and labour providers to secure resources, equipment, and services required for shutdown execution.
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including purchase requisitions, goods receipting, and invoice reconciliation activities.
- Monitor contractor timesheets, cost tracking, and commercial reporting to support budget compliance and effective cost control.
- Maintain shutdown resource registers, equipment tracking systems, and readiness dashboards.
- Coordinate site logistics, including shutdown facilities, laydown areas, access requirements, and workforce support arrangements.
- Support the management and tracking of hired and internal equipment throughout shutdown planning and execution phases.
- Provide execution support during shutdown events, assisting leaders to resolve resource, logistics, and equipment-related issues in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Contribute to shutdown reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance future shutdown performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in shutdown, maintenance, operations, project coordination, or resource planning within mining, processing, heavy industry, or similar environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and support departments.
- Highly developed organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Experience managing contractor mobilisation, workforce logistics, equipment coordination, or shutdown support activities.
- Sound commercial awareness, including experience with purchase requisitions, invoice processing, cost tracking, and contractor administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using SAP
- Strong problem-solving capability and the ability to adapt within a dynamic and time-critical shutdown environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with personnel at all organisational levels.
