Position Title: Shutdown Superintendent

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth

Summary:

To be successful the Shutdown team must work closely with the other teams, wider operation, and business to ensure the plant remains reliable, with an ongoing focus on consistent improvement. As superintendent, your role will be to ensure continued partnership of the team with the wider business to achieve objectives

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate strong safety values and build a proactive team safety culture
  • The Superintendent will impact strategic effectiveness by ensuring that they are across the business & operational strategy in order to ensure that plant shutdown activities are planned and managed in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, with a sound basis in asset management principles such as Work Management.
  • Develop a team culture of continuous improvement aligned with Fortescue's values
  • Responsibility for the yearly, monthly, weekly, and day to day planning, scheduling, and coordination of plant shutdown activities to ensure maximum efficiency and safety of manpower and equipment, using the relevant asset management processes
  • Manage multiple contractors in a fast paced dynamic work structure

Education and Experience: 

  • Demonstrated track record of problem-solving and solution implementation in a multi-discipline team-based environment
  • Experience in a similar role gained in maintaining fixed plant during shutdowns in a field situation preferably in iron ore
  • Strong leadership skills, Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous shutdown and maintenance/process plant experience in a mining environment
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Strong understanding of both production and maintenance strategies for large scale processing plant
  • Trade background and/or Engineering qualification
