About the Role
We are seeking a mechanically minded Shutdown Support person to support the shut team in their weekly work, their roles and general daily tasks. This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with strong teamwork values and the desire to complete work to a high standard.
Working 8 days on, 6 days off roster and reporting to the Shutdown Supervisor, the role will require you to:
- Daily running of the tool trailer during shutdowns, this includes the signing in and out of tooling, and escalating any tooling issues to the Supervisor
- Inspection of all tooling and rigging equipment to ensure it is compliant and safe for use
- Ensuring tool trailer is stocked with consumables at the end of each swing ready for the incoming team and manage any out of service tools
- Unloading of hire equipment on arrival for shutdowns and distributing to the correct locations
- Ensure all hire electrical equipment has been tagged by the electrical team
- Conduct plant inspections
- Consolidate hire gear at the end of each shutdown and ensure it is ready for demobe
- Working with the warehousing team to ensure all parts are delivered on time to the parts staging yard
- Loading and unloading trucks with forklifts and telehandlers as well as fuelling when required
- Staging shutdown parts in their correct areas and ensuring that they are labelled correctly ready for execution
- Management of OSR parts post shut to ensure they are sent to the warehouse in a timely fashion and ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy
- Participate in the daily safety process’s – Risk Assessments, LIF and MySafety
About You
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Australian "C" Class manual Drivers Licence
- A good understanding of work management processes and systems
- High Risk Work Licenses (EWP & LF) - desirable
Where you will be working
The Brockman 2 mine is an iron ore mine located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 60 kilometres north-west of Tom Price. The Hamersley Range, where the mine is located, contains 80 percent of all identified iron ore reserves in Australia and is one of the world's major iron ore provinces. The mine is serviced by the Brockman Airport.
