Signal & Communications Snr Specialist

Work Location:

Fortescue’s East Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster:

Monday to Friday 

The Rail Systems team provide mission critical support to the FMG Train Control System and supporting communication networks. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support both our maintenance and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in the FMG Safety System;
• High-capacity technical skills with the ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
• Ability to work autonomously and independently;
• Able to interface effectively with Operational customers;
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster;
• Ability to manage and lead projects;
• Troubleshooting technical issues and developing effective solutions, and
• Liase and work with vendors.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary STEM qualification;
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a production or engineering environment;
• Experience with Rail Control Systems or similar; or
• Experience with virtualized control systems; or
• Expertise in communications or onboard systems.
