About the Role

Reporting to the Signals Execution Supervisor, your duties will include:

  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Supervising the day-to-day activities to enable the teams to safely execute work by managing risk
  • Attend Core routine meetings agreed by the leadership group such as safety meetings and planning meetings.
  • Meet team Field Leadership commitments and expectations including critical control activities
  • Meet teamwork management commitments and expectations
  • Meet team expectations around the management of actions  
  • Monitoring of planned site progress and contractor resource capability and capacity
  • Coach, Mentor and performance mange team members that do not meet team expectations including culture
  • Build and maintain capability as per team requirements and training profile by monitoring LMS
  • Manage and report of events as per team expectations
  • Ensure that the work site is maintained in a clean and safe condition and that the work has minimal impact on the environment
  • Provide on-the-job training where required to Signals Execution Technicians
  • Comprehensive knowledge of railway network including locations of SERs and Level crossings
  • Ordering and maintaining of Signals stores

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • A Grade electrical License essential
  • Cert 4 Rail Signaling preferred but not essential
  • Good communication skills & ability to follow instructions
  • Sound knowledge of Signals Maintenance works is preferred
  • Experience using Fiori, 1SAP & event management is preferred but not essential
  • Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiences
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systems (training provided)
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not essential
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
  • Ability to build positive and sustaining relationships.
  • Sound judgement including balancing competing issues.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks.
  • Be able to pass a Category #1 Rail medical (Mandatory)
  • Must hold a current driver’s license
