Signals Technician Advanced
Work Location: Hedland Operations - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 14D/14R – FIFO ex Perth or Residential in Hedland
Reporting to the Signals Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring Fortescue's signalling system is well maintained by undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance activities, enabling a safe operation and high availability of the rail corridor whilst minimizing delays due to track faults.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Execute all scheduled maintenance on the highest standards
- Scope planned maintenance jobs and repairs within the track and infrastructure equipment
- Undertake all tasks and activities in a safe and competent manner in accordance with relevant safe working procedures
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with the appropriate policies, procedures and standards to ensure operations efficiency is maximized
- Model positive safety behaviours by promptly reporting safety hazards and incidents
- Regularly review maintenance procedures and make recommendations for improvement to Supervisor and Superintendent
- Resolve issues in consultation with Supervisor and actively participate in meetings, training and HR processes as required
- Coach and share knowledge with others in areas of expertise
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in signalling maintenance
- Certificate IV in rail signalling
- Strong reporting skills and a high level of good computer literacy
- SAP experience will be highly regarded
- Experience within the resources sector is desirable
