Yarrabee are looking for an experienced Accountant to join the team in either Fulltime/Part time capacity for a 6 month contract.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Superintendent, the site accountant role is responsible for;
- The provision of accounting services for Yarrabee Coal Company
- Timely reporting to management of actual, budget and forecast information (financial and physical).
- Ensuring the financial and accounting conditions of Yarrabee Coal Mine
- Management and Operating Agreements are adhered to
- Correctly whilst maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and SAP controlling module
- Maintaining controls and integrity as per Australian accounting standards and SOX requirements
Roster: Monday - Friday; Full time 7am - 4pm or Part time; 9am - 2:30pm
About You
To be successful in this position strong communication skills will be essential as you will be required to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders across varying levels and departments including site personnel, operations, finance, and management. Possessing a keen eye for detail, a passion for numbers and a continuous improvement mind-set will see you excelling in this role.
What you will need:
- Degree Qualified (Accounting or Commerce).
- CPA/CA designation or currently studying towards.
- Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11)
- Current QLD Driver’s licence
- Competent in SAP accounting processes.
- Competent with the use of Xeras forecasting and budgeting tool.
- Good understanding of SOX audit requirements and control processes
- Proficient or substantial exposure to Fixed Asset reporting and management
Knowledge & Experience
- Able to critique, review, recommend and implement initiatives that seek efficiencies either from a process or systems perspective
- Sound understanding of their individual obligations as outlined within the Queensland Coal Mining legislation
- Experienced in the provision of an accounting role in a similar environment
- Experienced at prioritising tasks, following through to completion and showing flexibility when needed
- Experience with building working relationships with other employees and corporate office
