About the Role
The Supervisor Mining Systems provides leadership to a team focused on the management and reliability of site operational technology and systems. The role is FIFO, supporting a team based at the WAIO Central Operations (South Flank, Mining Area C and Yandi).
The roster for this role is currently 4 days on, 3 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 8 days on 6 days off (rotating) but can be flexible with the right candidate.
Beyond enabling your immediate direct reports, the role is a leadership position that works as a conduit for both the Technology Function teams to maintain a reliable technology stack, but also for the Asset Operations teams back into the Technology Function.
In this role you will:
- Positively shape the Mining Systems culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
- Motivate, engage and coach the team towards achieving safety, inclusiveness and productivity goals
- Plan for and establish Mining Systems work methods and processes, including alignment with proven work management processes
- Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions
- Ensure operational technology at the mine enables successful delivery of the Mine Plan.
- Leads a team focused on the production, development and management of autonomous mobile and fleet systems in line with requirements.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Effective stakeholder management skills, seeking to understand needs and leveraging relationships across departments to deliver outcomes
- Able to build a risk aware culture, encouraging others to share lessons learned to improve operational practices
- Experience in the function of safety, fleet, radio and network mining technologies
- Able to build and balance the capability composition of the team through coaching, providing feedback and developing your team
- Strong facilitation and communication skills for problem solving and leading change
- Can think strategically (see the big picture and connect dots) but also able to keep things simple and you're comfortable to work in detail where required.
