Roster / Site

This position is offered as 4 days on 3 days off. 

FIFO from either Brisbane or Cairns or DIDO or residential based at BMA Caval Ridge Mine located in the Bowen Basin near Moranbah 

About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Site Systems, this role will see you provide support to the Site Leadership team in the development and maintenance of processes and procedures that make up the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), Risk Management Framework, and Site Training Scheme

Your duties will include:  

  • Participating in the implementation of the BHP Operating System (BOS) 
  • Working collaboratively with other Site Systems team members to meet deadlines
  • Reporting of Site Compliance with regards to legislation and organisational capability
  • Ensure all training documentation is verified and compliant.
  • Assessment verification and data entry into training systems.
  • Working with stakeholders to maintain the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), Risk Management Framework, and Site Training Scheme
  • Booking external training providers
  • Process and maintain the site Hazardous Materials Register
  • Purchasing (1SAP and C-RES)
  • Continual improvement projects relevant to role
  • Weekly RESTART report for oncoming crew
  • Lead and have involvement in internal and external audits.
  • General coordination/administrative tasks to assist the Site Systems team
  • Support the Site Systems & Training Specialist and Superintendent to drive compliance, training and reporting initiatives that positively influence the safety culture and performance of the site.  

About You

The successful candidate will have:   

  • Customer-focused attitude to ensure we are meeting the needs of our stakeholders.  
  • Knowledge and relevant experience in training within a coal mining environment.
  • You will have relevant experience as an administrator, high levels of initiative, impeccable attention to detail, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills with the ability to manage high level of interaction with all levels of the business. 
  • Due to the nature of the role, it would be viewed favourably to a hold formal qualification in workplace training and assessment, for example TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or be working towards this qualification.
  • Beneficial but not required SOA Handle Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances.
  • A strong working knowledge of the QLD Coal Mining Safety Legislation is highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand legislative and procedural requirements and translate them into documented systems for practical application.
  • Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills that support you building relationships at all levels of the business.
  • A proactive approach in identifying issues coupled with the confidence to generate and put forward creative solutions.
  • Strong computer skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • A personable and professional approach with people at all levels of an organisation.
  • A strong ability to organise and manage competing demands and priorities.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work and engage in a strong team environment.
  • Show initiative and work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach.
