Site Training Coordinator

The Deflector Processing Plant produces both gold bullion and copper concentrate via gravity separation, flotation and now, leaching processes. The major CIP expansion in 2021 has demonstrated significant improvement in recoveries and enabled processing of new ore sources, such as the nearby Rothsay mine. This role presents a unique opportunity to take a lead role in reviewing and maintaining training records and procedures, and in ensuring the operations team are trained to a high standard.

THE ROLE:

As a dedicated and passionate Training Coordinator at the Deflector mine, you will ensure that all personnel receive high-quality training and verification of competency to continue to deliver safe and efficient operations. Reporting to the OHST Manager, you will take ownership of both processing and general site surface operations, maintaining accurate and well-organised records.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering internal training courses and arranging external training
• Liaising with senior processing personnel to review and update standard operating procedures and training materials
• Developing new training modules
• Updating of induction courses and provision of plant orientations for new personnel
• Maintenance of training records within InTuition, +LMS and InControl
• Provision of mobile plant training and verification of competency
• Active involvement in safety programs and meetings

You can demonstrate:

• Experience in process plant operations and training, preferably gold
• Your attainment of a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
• Excellent organisation and record keeping skills
• Your ability to work autonomously
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
• Experience with the INX software suite, particularly InTuition, +LMS and InControl
• Holding a C class drivers licence

The following would be desirable:

• Certificate IV Work Health and Safety (BSB41419)
• Certificate III Resource Processing (RII30420)
• A working knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
• Appropriate high risk work and heavy vehicle licences
• Familiarity with the Metalliferous Mining Training packages for Processing

Deflector mine is approximately 450km north of Perth and around 240km inland from Geraldton. The small and friendly team will enable you to develop strong working relationships and influence strategic training direction for the site. The position will be offered on either a 15:13 or 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.
