About the Role

We are looking for motivated and adaptable process technicians with 3 to 5 years’ experience in processing/mining operations to join BHP Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter’s Services team.  The Services team is responsible for many different supporting processes that are essential for the safe operation of our Nickel Smelter including operation of a 100tpd 6MPa boiler and a superheated steam turbine alongside the operation of a cryogenic oxygen plant, sulphuric acid plant, crushing and milling circuits, process effluent treatment and concentrate train unloading.

This role will provide you with a wide and varied experience in process operations that are applicable to many different industries, giving you skills and knowledge that is highly sort after in the resources industry.  

About You

  • Up to 3 years current or previous Process Technician experience 

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle minor maintenance projects

  • Strong understanding of production processes

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical devices

  • Show vast initiative and be able to work unsupervised

  • Able to handle a complexity of tasks efficiently

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong orientation to safe work practices – High safety focus
