About the Role
The role oversees all execution functions required for each contract within the portfolio to ensure they perform as intended, whilst reviewing all safety and KPI performance measures.
Leading a team of contract specialists, and working closely with the Contract Owners, this role will integrate with supply/purchasing and legal functions for the purpose of sourcing, contract negotiations, contract variations and contract performance to ensure the best outcome for the Mine Contract Owners.
- Develop and maintain a Contract Register for the Mine Contract portfolio.
- Advise the Contract Owner of due dates and expiry dates. Facilitate the engagement with Supply for the extension, or sourcing strategy for the contract, assist in the creation, reviewing and submission of all documentation, including risk assessments.
- Facilitate meetings with Supply and Contract Owners on to discuss the contract compliance, expiry dates, variations and tenders.
- Take the lead position with Supply for contract changes, and new contracts to obtain the best outcome and cost for the portfolio.
- Contract mobilisation and demobilisation.
- Look for opportunities to maximise benefits through innovative thinking and rationalising whilst maintaining a healthy contract.
- Plan, schedule and administer the Contract Reviews Meetings (CRM) for the contract portfolio.
- Audit contracts to identify cost leakage, fraudulent claims, and ensure compliance to contract price, scope of work, and company policies.
- Monitor contractor performance, escalations and dispute resolution: corrective actions, performance improvement plans and/or enforce the contract where required.
- Influence contractor safety outcomes through early identification of trends, safety improvement plans, support contractors, work with BHP stakeholders as necessary to improve safety / mitigate hazards. Ensure timely resolution of safety issues and provide communication and consultation of safety related matters with work teams.
- Ad-hoc contract management duties as required.
About You
- Able to demonstrate your Contract management skillset.
- Contract negotiation training/qualifications preferable.
- Experience & Technical Competencies
- Experience in the mining and minerals processing industries is preferable
- Solid understanding of contract management
- Proven ability to influence and mentor others in HSEC/Contract Management principles and behaviours.
- Excellent communication skills to a broad range audience, including large groups of personnel to leadership members and/or contract groups.
- Time keeping and managing tight deadlines for contract compliance.
- Proficient in computer skills, including the Microsoft office package. High level of competency in Word and Excel.
- Strong technical writing ability
