Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance. Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer.

Who we’re looking for
At Telfer we are seeking expressions of interest from candidates who are wanting to make a real difference to our employees and the Indigenous community. This team is instrumental and responsible for actively working with external agencies, communities and other stakeholders to recruit indigenous candidates and to support the community employment and training programs.
The Social Performance team is responsible to protect and enhance our licence to operate, through strategic advice, positioning, reputation and relationship management.
At Telfer we are motivated to grow within the Social Performance and Cultural Heritage space, the team is expanding which has opened up various opportunities.
To succeed in the roles available, you will be an organised and a culturally sensitive professional with proven experience of working within the Social Performance space highly desirable. As an effective communicator, you will look to build and manage internal relationships to enhance training, employment and business development opportunities at Telfer .
In addition to the above key skills, you will also ideally have (Depending on Level of the role):
- Previous experience working in a similar role/team, working with indigenous individuals and communities
- Extensive experience in Social Performance and / or Cultural Heritage Management in a similar role; supporting delivery of mining exploration / development projects (or operations)
- Experience managing complex social performance plans and projects, highly organised and good understanding of managing logistics to deliver Indigenous cultural heritage requirements
- Proven ability to build positive relationships across a range of stakeholder groups with experience in negotiation, conflict management and resolution
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Familiar with document management systems (CDMS, Aconex or similar
- Manual driver’s license - essential
