About the role
We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Analyst to develop and execute tender, procurement advisory and contract management activities in support of Weipa Operations. You will contribute value by utilising Rio Tinto’s sourcing methodology to deliver safe, efficient, and effective total value outcomes.
You will be joining an experienced Procurement team to deliver on this exciting opportunity. Supporting one of Rio Tinto’s Bauxite assets in Weipa QLD, you will be based in Brisbane with occasional travel to site.
Your role will include:
Collaborating with global and site key stakeholders to:
Promote and practice a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work ethic that promotes a safe and incident free workplace;
Collect and generate information and quality data about the sources and drivers of value creation through procurement;
Complete procurement risk assessments;
Develop and execute sourcing strategies;
Develop and release tender packages;
Evaluate supplier proposals;
Develop and execute negotiation plans;
Prepare contractual documentation;
Manage award approvals and contract execution process;
Work closely with other Procurement team members, both globally and within regions, to align sourcing requirements and outcomes with business needs;
Working in a dynamic environment to build a high level of trust through open and transparent relationships and engagements; and,
Manage supplier performance management processes.
About you

Relevant experience in procurement including sourcing, tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and contract execution
Sound level knowledge of procurement processes and principles with strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
Proficient understanding of contract law and administration
Problem solving skills with analytical capability
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities supporting multiple stakeholder groups whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Experience or understanding of SAP software, Ariba, Microsoft applications
Experience or understanding of Rio Tinto’s CES applications (Avetta) will also be highly regarded
Bachelor’s degree in business, law, economics, or finance will be beneficial.
It will also be beneficial if you have Procurement qualifications or training. Previous work history on an operational site will also be highly regarded.
