About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to bring your analytical skills and contribute to the success of BHP Copper South Australia. You’ll work closely with experts across mining, processing, infrastructure, and closure.
We are seeking a highly motivated person to be a Specialist Analyst in the Strategic Planning & Study team, reporting to the Superintendent Study Integration. In this role you will contribute to cost modelling and analysis supporting strategic decisions across the Copper South Australia Life of Asset (LoA) plan, reserve reporting and studies.
To succeed, you’ll need to be comfortable working across diverse teams, have excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of economic evaluation models. You’ll need to have a curious mind that looks to solve issues at the root cause.
This role is based in Adelaide, Monday-Friday with flexibility.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Undertake rigorous analysis to ensure consistent evaluation across the Copper SA asset.
- Build and refine complex cost and economic modelsthat inform strategic decision making.
- Audit and review models and implement recommendations as part of continuous improvement.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to identify key value drivers and trade-offs.
- Collaborate across diverse teams—mining, processing, infrastructure, finance — to integrate and test inputs.
- Translate technical and economic insights into clear narratives for senior leadership.
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations that support high-level decision-making.
- Support and guide technical teams in identifying and framing potential value optimization activities.
About You
- Degree qualified in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Engineering.
- Proven experience in modelling, technical and economic evaluation and analysis in a commercial project context.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with cost modelling and scenario analysis.
- Ability to connect the dots across technical domains and thrive in ambiguity.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to articulate complex insights clearly.
