About the role
We are looking for an Applications Specialist Technical Systems who will be the subject matter expert in Operational Technology and Applications Management.
This role is a great opportunity for a collaborative person to work in a complex applications, integration and database space with vendors to ensure support and projects are delivered.
Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Systems, and working in collaborative, challenging environment within our IS&T Technology Platforms Team, you will:
- Work with legacy and modern technology simultaneously
- Provide expertise on how enterprise systems can be integrated to meet business requirements.
- Technically own the suite of applications and platforms and will help maintain and continuously improve them.
- Maintain and improve business processes, application reference architectures, supporting frameworks and drive the use of relevant standards across the portfolio and product teams.
- Drive the end-to-end functional definition, design, configuration, and testing of solutions in line with agreed strategies and direction.
- Define, maintain, and drive the use of relevant standards.
- Provide local knowledge comprising business acumen, an understanding of application usage within the organisation, application capability, lessons learnt and future direction.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Substantial exposure to application architecture (both legacy and modern applications and/or technology) with large scale and diverse organisations
- Ability to quickly learn the modern applications and data landscape.
- Practical experience with managing multi-vendor, support and solution delivery teams.
- Degree qualified or higher in IT or related degree
- A result driven approach with the ability to work autonomously and within the team
- Excellent collaboration, influencing and negotiation abilities with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical resources
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Qualifications in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Understanding in Agile Frameworks (e.g., SCRUM)
- Experience in the delivery of Applications within the mining or resource sector
- Experience in rail, ports, HME or mining supply chain
