BHP’s Maintenance Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP globally. About the Role
As the Specialist Asset Management, you will create and maintain MECoE governed equipment specifications and embeds these specifications by engaging with key stakeholders across all BHP Assets and our major OEMs.
This is a role where you will call on your technical, stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities and ultimately help deliver safe, cost effective, reliable equipment to our Operations for our workforce to maintain and operate.
This role is based in Brisbane and offers excellent flexibility.
In this role you will:
- Assist with the preparation of equipment specifications for MECoE governed equipment that provides a BHP standard for the procurement of equipment
- Facilitate and participate in equipment specification workshops, risk assessments, forums and relevant equipment inspection
- Conduct research and compiles evidence to validate/support new and updated MECoE governed equipment specifications
- Engage with OEMs, Assets, BHP Functions and MECoE teams to include relevant maintenance practices, engineering, statutory, legislative, Australian and international standards’ requirements into the equipment specifications
- Communicate improvements and changes to equipment specifications across BHP
- Engage with the Assets to manage exceptions for MECoE standard specifications
- Scope, plans and execute projects assigned by the Lead within the Asset Management and Planning team, which includes Equipment Specifications, Maintenance Practice Standards, Repairable Component Standards, Asset Life Cycle Modelling and Planning
- Provide specialist support to the wider Asset Planning and Standards team through the execution of allocated projects
- Be a key user and supports global users of the equipment specifications tool and asset replacement optimisation tools (software)
About You
- Tertiary qualification or trade in Engineering or related field
- Maintenance, Engineering or Operational experience relevant to this role
- Solid experience and competence working with a range of software packages and tools
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
- Have a focus on continuous improvement and be passionate about building and maintaining positive working relationships within the team and across the business
Energetic and results-orientated, you work well under pressure bringing attention to detail and an ability to be an autonomous problem-solver.
You are able to establish credibility through your technical ability and excellent communication skills; ideally, you will bring project management experience to the role. You relate well with people with an engaging style allowing you to communicate enthusiastically and build strong working relationships.
