Operations near and far  

Close to the city of Orange in NSW, Cadia is one of Australia’s largest gold mining operations. We offer a unique opportunity for employees and their families to enjoy a mining career all whilst living in a major regional centre only three hours away from Sydney, NSW.

Who we’re looking for:

Join our Mining Innovation & Automation team based at our Cadia site. Reporting to the Superintendent – MIA, you will develop, manage and support the application and improvement of current and emerging autonomous systems.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and foster relationships with 3rd party/OEM autonomous systems manufacturers
  • Identify, develop, and implement innovative technology solutions to remove personnel from hazards and enhance safety and operations
  • Maintain and improve the technology systems associated with autonomous, semi-autonomous, and tele-remote solutions to enhance existing and future operations
  • Contribute to the uplift of Cadia’s safety culture by engaging in safety improvements, participating in safety discussions, conducting regular field safety inspections

In addition, you will also have:

  • Demonstrated practical knowledge, understanding and application of mining automation systems
  • Knowledge of underground and surface mining technologies
  • Sound, demonstrated safety management practises
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience for large, complex, capital-intensive projects
  • Functional safety knowledge and formal qualifications (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of IP networks & Wi-Fi

Please note: This is a permanent, residential role based in Orange, NSW on a 5D/2X roster.
