About the role
We are looking for a Specialist Budgeting and Analysis to provide senior executive and functional colleagues, detailed and timely analysis and reporting on the rehabilitation project along with preparation and analysis of companywide budgets and performance insight.
Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) is a Rio Tinto Subsidiary and operated Ranger, Australia’s longest continuous uranium mine, surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. In accordance with Government legislation, all mining operations and uranium processing at Ranger ceased on 8 January 2021.
Today, ERA’s strategic priority is the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Ranger Project Area to a standard where it can be reincorporated into the surrounding Kakadu National Park if Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish.
ERA's purpose is to create a positive legacy and achieve world-class, sustainable rehabilitation of former mine assets.
What the role entails
We are currently looking for a suitably qualified person to join our very dynamic team in the role of Specialist Budgeting and Analysis. This role is being offered as a full time permanent position. The role will report to the Manager Finance and engage extensively across the business including with the Executive Committee. You will provide financial management and decision support to the Chief Financial Officer team, both upon request and autonomously to derive the maximum value from the project. The role will act as a key conduit between the corporate team and the operational project management teams. As such excellent relationship management skills are required.
You will be accountable for:
- Manage forecasting processes and outputs, both formal and informal,
- Liaise between departments, including Finance, to ensure forecast accuracy and completeness,
- Preparation of the annual closure provision, based on information available from the project team and ensure a smooth external audit process,
- Deliver clear and concise information analysis to all stakeholders,
- Continuously improve management reporting and information flows, including systemisation of reports and commentaries,
- Identify and develop operational trends to deliver value propositions to management,
- Establish, maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders,
- Analysis of business cases,
- Collation and integration of forecasting processes, and
- Identification of areas for improvement opportunities.
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business or Finance).
- Mining or heavy industry experience is desirable
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Operations or project performance analysis experience
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
