Macmahon has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analytics and Reporting Specialist to join the Business Support Services team in Perth. Reporting to the Principal – Business Analytics and Reporting, this purpose of this role is to assist in the design and delivery of Business Analytics and Reporting across Macmahon Operations. This role provides exposure to Surface, Underground, and International - including Tendering and Technical Services. You will perform a key function supporting the alignment of Business Analytics & Reporting to the broader strategic Business Goals and Vision of Macmahon.

The role 

  • Design and implement process and tools to facilitate the identification of areas to maximise value for the business
  • Deliver a continuous iterative exploration and investigation of past business performance to gain insight and drive business planning
  • Develop new actionable insights and understanding of business performance based on all available data and statistical methods
  • Assist in the successful implementation of estimating / forecasting tools as required
  • Assist in the development and reporting of budgets, forecasts, and business plans
  • Undertake an organisation wide stakeholder engagement process to develop a standardised and consistent approach to reporting  
  • Define and analyse metrics for the Groups portfolio and the projects progressing through the BD pipeline to allow standard reporting across the portfolio
  • Develop templates for reporting to improve efficiency and consistency within the business on reporting
  • Connect and communicate with the wider business to facilitate improvements in reporting where required
     

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience within the mining and/or resources sector in a technical or management role 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Business Analyst, Business Intelligence, Business Improvement roles
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills
  • Proficient in the use of languages and tools required to undertake analytics (SQL, Python, R)
  • Proficient in the use of modern report development tools (Power BI, SSRS)
  • Degree qualified in mining, resource management or related discipline – desired, not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under tight deadlines 
  • Well-developed financial skills
