We are looking for a Specialist Business Improvement to support the deployment and growth of the Safe Production System at our Gove Operations to foster operations excellence and lead critical improvement initiatives for site.

This is a great opportunity to work within the Business Improvement team and play a key role in Gove’s journey to become Best Operator.

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, you will:

  • Support the deployment of Safe Production System (SPS) by:
    • Coaching existing SPS best practices, especially our key daily and weekly lean performance meetings.
    • Leading and supporting the launch of new best practices and improve existing best practices through a plan-do-check-act approach.
    • Facilitating and coach problem solving at all levels of the organisation, through kaizen events and practical problem solving
  • Support operational managers and superintendents in defining and delivering a simple, prioritised improvement plan, as part of our improvement life cycle
  • Lead critical improvement initiatives, applying data analysis, facilitation and project management skills and lean tools to efficiently deliver step changes in business performance

  • Ability to work flexibly in an operational environment, adapting priorities and timelines to meet business needs
  • Problem solving skills, with ability to navigate both the human and technical aspects of problem solving, and apply standardised work to sustain solutions
  • Experience in an operations, maintenance or engineering role; in a mining, processing or manufacturing business
