We are looking for a Specialist Business Improvement to embed a values-based performance culture with people at our heart, collaborating to #findbetterways at our Robe Valley Operations.
What the role entails:
Reporting to the Principal Business Improvement and working in a collaborative team focused on business risk, strategy and improvement; you will:
- Support the deployment of the Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS), which puts people at the heart, to identify best practice and drive a cultural change across the business on our journey to becoming the best operator;
- Deliver value through identifying opportunities aligned with risk and strategy, and execution of improvement projects (Lean, Practical Problem Solving and Kaizen);
- Interpret value drivers (culture, cost and productivity) to inform strategic thinking and the prioritisation of initiatives;
- Coach Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors and team members to achieve waste elimination, process excellence, safety improvements and other improvement opportunities;
- Demonstrate excellence in teamwork, partnership, communication and stakeholder management;
- Develop and leverage strong working relationships with key stakeholders to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team, and alignment with our values of Care, Courage and Curiosity;
- Experience in process improvement, project leadership, change management, stakeholder engagement or similar;
- Highly effective leadership, organisational, time management and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in a high-pace role, managing deliverables and stakeholders whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation;
- Qualifications in Commerce, Engineering or related discipline will be beneficial;
- Preferably certified in Six Sigma (Black/Green Belt) or possessing significant experience with Lean Methodology, showcasing a commitment to operational efficiency and excellence

This role is based at Robe Valley Operations in the scenic Pilbara region and close to the major centre of Karratha
