Specialist Category Management – Energy and Power Team (Secondment for 12 months)

Work Location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

An opportunity has arisen to join the growing world of energy and decarbonisation within Fortescue’s Energy & Power team. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, passionate, honest, enthusiastic, and willing to step up to the challenge of being part of an innovative and achievement driven organisation.

The successful Specialist Category Management will be required to use their commercial acumen to provide end-to-end procurement and contract support within Fortescue’s energy categories. This role will report into the Category Management Senior Specialist responsible for the electricity portfolio.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Development and management of Renewable Energy Certificate processes under the supervision of the Senior Specialist Category Management
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement activities for discreet initiatives involving the Energy & Power team, such as the installation of onsite small-scale renewable systems
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationship management tools in support of the electricity portfolio
  • Provide operational support in the electricity and gas nomination duties and assist in the development and implementation of new processes and systems
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on commercial matters to develop industry knowledge on the legislation, where applicable, to ensure business, compliance, and governance obligations are met
  • Support and manage meetings, draft and circulate meeting actions and ensure related deadlines are adhered to
  • Administer reports on contract performance and governance tracking
  • Manage vendor onboarding and invoice validation and payments for the electricity portfolio
  • Maintain the iValua contract database for all energy agreements

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in commercial negotiation and contract administration
  • Strong commercial, contractual and financial acumen
  • Methodical and consultive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with SAP and iValua contract management module (or equivalent) will be highly regarded
  • Qualifications in commercial, business, procurement, legal or related fields will be highly valued
  • Previous electricity or regulatory experience will be highly regarded
