At Rio Tinto, it begins with you.Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Strategy and Services in the Sustaining Capital division we are seeking a Communications Specialist on a full-time or a part time job share arrangement to oversee the development and implementation of the Sustaining Capital communication and engagement strategy and plan. Relied on for your expertise in developing strategic communications you will be responsible for all areas of internal communication.
Key duties include
- Develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of the Sustaining Capital communication and engagement strategy and plan.
- Prepare General Manager communications including monthly addresses, quarterly State of the Nation, speaking notes, presentations, and email updates.
- Develop strong relationships with management and senior leaders across the division and provide expertise to deliver effective communication activities that support Sustaining Capital’s objectives and priorities, including the Priority Program.
- Management of the Sustaining Capital Hub intranet, Yammer, and digital communication channels, including video.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications or a related discipline/field such as journalism, public relations or marketing.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders with varying interests and priorities.
- Initiative and the ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment working across multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
- Creativity, curiosity, and passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience in change management (beneficial).

Where you will be working

This role will be based at our Central Park office based in the Perth CBD.
