About the role

We are looking for a Closure Specialist to support the business in rehabilitation and closure planning.

This role is a great opportunity to provide advice to the business to assess, manage and minimise risks as they relate to Rehabilitation & Closure. Reporting to the Superintendent Closure Planning you will be responsible for:

  • Delivery of closure planning requirements for whole life-cycle of Assets and closure studies
  • Managing closure-related risks and developing action plans
  • Ensuring closure is considered across all aspects of the mine life-cycle
  • Management and preparation of closure cost estimates
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Experience in the mining sector
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • An understanding of Spatial Data – GIS
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with a diverse range of people
  • Experience in mining / rehabilitation / closure planning

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Direct experience working with legislation, regulations and guidelines related to mine closure
  • Self-motivation to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Experience utilising GIS applications and other spatial systems

Where you will be working

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia, out of our Central Park office, working Monday – Friday, with ad hoc travel to sites in the Pilbara. We support and encourage flexible working arrangements.
