About the Role

We have a rare opportunity for a Specialist Closure Planning to join our Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP) Working Group. Reporting to the working group Lead, your role will be to support and drive the program delivery framework. This framework is required to submit (and have approved) BHP’s transitional PRCPs within the agreed timeframes.

This will require you to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders across our functions and assets. This position is based in Brisbane with ad hoc site travel required. Flexible work options will be considered.

You will be required to:

  • Lead study work on Voids, TSFs and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support study work on Underground Mining
  • Provide subject matter expert review on consultant and study deliverables, and support associated PRCP SMEs where interlinks occur with other studies  
  • Liaise and develop relationships with internal BMA stakeholders that may be required to contribute to these studies (site and asset level)
  • Support Program Lead on addressing external peer review comments if required
  • Write and compile key PRCP content in relation to these studies
  • Provide ongoing input, refinement and management of the PRCP project management schedule, budgeting, forecasting and invoicing related to these studies, in support of program lead
  • Assist in managing consultants to deliver their required PRCP compliance content, on time and within budget
  • Scoping, preparing and obtaining approval of new and or refined technical studies/packages of work

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering (or similar)
  • A working knowledge of state and federal environmental legislation and regulatory HSE policies and procedures and their implementation in the mining and resources sector;
  • Demonstrated change management experience, including working with diverse stakeholder groups, business processes, systems, and technology.
  • Ability to build consultative and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
