About the Role

We are looking for a Specialist – Closure Projects to be a key member of a high functioning Closure team working on interesting and challenging Closure projects. A mine legacy impact assessment project will be the first in which you will have a key role to play. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Governance, as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for:

  • Playing a key role in the development and implementation of effective internal governance structures to support the project’s needs and the strategic direction
  • Assisting in reporting the project’s progress and risks to the project Steering Committee, Executive Committee and Board
  • Maintaining an effective risks and opportunities register which reflect the dynamic nature of the project, and guide and advise management on key project risks.
  • Using innovating and blue-sky thinking to support the development of options analysis and pathways to success considering various project stakeholders (government, community, company).
  • Coordination of technical reviews by Subject Matter Experts
  • Coordinating desktop research and investigations to support options analysis and preparing cost estimates
  • Compiling, analysing, and presenting technical data to support options analysis
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a shared knowledge base, and alignment and understanding of objectives

  • A good understanding of study and project processes
  • Ability to consider options and prepare persuasive well-written documentation
  • Self determination to run with assigned responsibilities
  • Experience in project governance and assurance processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capability
  • Experience is undertaking risk assessments and maintaining a risk register
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion
  • Some experience in mining or mine planning
  • Strong stakeholder management and organisational skills

Where you will be working

This role is based in Brisbane. We offer a flexible working arrangement with a balance of office-based and work from home. There is an ongoing requirement for additional hours outside the standard working day to support colleagues in alternate time zones.
