We are looking for a Specialist Contractor Management to support and drive delivery of RTIO’s contractor management strategy at our Robe Valley Operations.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a supervisor or Specialist to demonstrate and improve their skillsets in partnership management, commercial acumen, safety systems, and continuous improvement
Contractors are essential for iron ore in safety, productivity and delivering on our promises to our customers. As we improve the contractor management system, you will be designing, participating, communicating, and supporting the step-change across iron ore.

Reporting to the Superintendent Business Services and working in a collaborative community you will be:
- Providing hands on coaching and support regarding RTIO’s safety and commercial/procurement systems and processes to our supervisors, superintendents, company representatives, and contractor partners;
- Identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives with regard to contractor management;
- Facilitate the flow of information between Robe Valley’s Operations and RTIO’s central contractor management team; and
- Ensuring partnership is a core value in the way we work with our suppliers.
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
- Previous experience in either leading contractors in the field, being a contractor in the mining industry, or working in contractor management;
- The ability to interpret and adhere to policies and systems, to enable quality coaching and support of contractors and front-line leaders;
- A strong drive to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives;
- A passion for working with people and driving true partnership with our suppliers;
- An ability to exercise judgement and discretion across a wide and diverse work brief; and
- A diverse skill set including experience in one or more of the areas of line leadership, procurement, health and safety, communities, training, HR, or business improvement.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to achieve outcome through influence and collaboration with others.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
