About the Role
Blackwater Mine is one of BMA’s (BHP Mitsubishi Alliance) largest Metallurgical Coal Mines, located in the Bowen Basin approximately 21kms from Blackwater township. Reporting to the Superintendent Contracts, the Specialist Contractor Management CMF Compliance role will be responsible for supporting Contractor Owners in the practical application of the Contractor Management Framework for contract partners engaged to perform work on site.
This is a unique opportunity to utilise your skills and experience with one of the world's largest coal producers. In this role, you will provide specialised compliance monitoring, coaching, advice, and support for our site Maintenance teams to promote improved safety outcomes and standardisation. You will utilise your excellent relationship building and people skills to deliver a wide range of services and initiatives.
This opportunity is a site-based role at Blackwater Mine with flexible DIDO/FIFO options offered.
In this role you will be required to:
- Support Contractor Owners in the execution of their duties as outlined in the Contractor Management Framework
- Advise internal stakeholders on suitable course of action with regards to sourcing, engagement, and performance management of contract partners
- Support the CMF on-boarding processes and manage the associated activities
- Develop, complete, and maintain work scopes, risk assessments and Contractor Management documentation in collaboration with stakeholders, including any changes
- Schedule, facilitate, record, and distribute meetings required under CMF routines
- Conduct field verifications of contract partner activities
- Coordinate issues, settlement & disputes with Supply & Contract Owners/Superintendents
- Monitor and report on CMF compliance
- Document Management and Record Keeping
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives to drive process, cost, and productivity improvements
About You
You will be a self-motivated professional who has a proven history of strong communication and engagement skills and demonstrated experience in the management of contractors within mining or similar industries.
It is preferable that you also have:
- Tertiary qualification (or studying) in Safety, Law, Business or Procurement or with similar experience within the mineral resources industry, but not essential.
- A strong background in systems, HSE and compliance.
- An understanding of the Queensland Mining Act and Regulations.
- Previous experience in navigating Safety and Health Management Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence health and safety outcomes.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational management skills.
- Have a commitment to safety and genuine care for the workforce.
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and SAP experience is preferred.
