About the Role
The Contract Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the effective management of site-based contracts at Prominent Hill within the Mining Department.
The role partners with operational teams and business partners to ensure contracts are managed safely, compliantly, and efficiently, aligned with the Copper South Australia Contractor Management Framework.
This position is a key interface between the site and its contractors, enabling strong relationships, delivering value, and driving continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and cost performance.
This role is based at Prominent Hill on an 8/6 roster – FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Contract Delivery & Governance - Support safe, compliant, and effective execution of contracts in line with site standards and obligations.
- Contractor Management Framework - Enable consistent application of the Copper SA Contractor Management Framework, including onboarding, mobilisation, and compliance.
- Field Engagement & Interface - Maintain strong field presence and act as a key interface between site teams and contractor partners.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement - Identify and drive improvements in safety, productivity, and cost across contract performance.
- Financial & Commercial Support - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and performance reporting.
- Team & Culture Contribution - Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture and uplift capability across the site.
About You
- Experience in contracts and contractor management
- Experience in Surface or Underground Mining or Heavy Industry will be highly regarded
- Strong team player with an open mindset and ability to work well with others
- Builds effective relationships and communicates clearly across teams
- Contributes positively to a safe, respectful, high-performance culture
- Seeks opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and cost outcomes
- Comfortable working across field and office environments
