About the Role
In this full-time permanent role, you will have an option either Roxby Downs residential based or FIFO from Adelaide. You will be working on a 7-day shift, 7 days off, 7-night shift, and 7 days off roster.
The Acid Plant Control Room Specialist safely and competently operates and monitors the Acid Plant and Feed Preparation Areas on a shift-by-shift basis to achieve safety and production targets. This is done by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team, and site objectives as directed.
In this role you will:

Assist Shift Supervisor by monitoring the performance of equipment and tasks to ensure productivity is safely maximised.

Operate the Acid Plant and Feed Preparation Area in a safe manner from the Control Room using Citect.

Monitor and improve plant throughput and processes, via communications with Production Technicians and by use of Citect and other Business systems.

Establish collaborative working relationships within the Control Operations team and other departments.

Identify and engage with other teams, to ensure maximum utilisation of time and resources.

Embrace a process safety methodology for the operation of the assets through the review and development of processes and procedures.

Develop skills in Plant Operation across multiple areas.

Use SAP to enter maintenance notifications, and maintain adequate consumable supplies, as well as for entering and investigating incidents as required.

Contribute to and support the Shift Supervisor’s decisions and communicate these to team members.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
-
Ability to work effectively within a chemical or minerals processing operation.

Experience using control systems including or similar to CITECT / SCADA, and OSI PI.

Experience in Sulfuric Acid Plant operation and/or completion of a Boiler ticket is advantageous.

Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable, and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’..

Collaborative and able to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines.

Ability to interpret critical information and make decisions.

Enthusiastic to learn new skills and accept challenges.

Good computer literacy with the ability to use SAP to enter maintenance notifications, order consumables, and incident investigations.
