About the Role
We’re experiencing exciting growth and we have an opportunity to join our Geology team at our Carrapateena mine! Reporting to the Lead Mine Geologist, as a Specialist Core Processor, you will provide specialist support to the core processing area to enable set targets to be reached in a safe and efficient manner. The role will involve being an active team member, providing support to the requirements of the work team, by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team and site objectives as directed.
We have 2 positions available and both will be based at our Carrapateena site on a 8/6 roster. FIFO is available from Adelaide or Port Augusta.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Sampling of drill core
- Sample dispatch, data entry and validation within acquire.
- Have a firm understanding of the Core Processing Area tasks and the ability to problem solve and rectify any issues
- Step-up Supervision when required
- Assists with the collection of geological information through timely processing of diamond drill core. Duties include core sampling processes and drill core transportation
- Positively contribute to safety and department meetings
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and hazards
- Participate in workplace investigations as required
- Training Team Members
- Update Work Area Instructions
About You
You will have a firm understanding of the Core Processing Area tasks and the ability to problem solve and rectify any issues. As well as having the ability to work effectively within the Carrapateena Mine operations and functional teams. Other attributes will include:
- High Risk Forklift Licence (Mandatory)
- Previous experience in Core Processing
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, and display a high level of motivation and initiative
- Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to promote teamwork
- Proven ability to demonstrate appropriate HSEC behaviors
- Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
