About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative Procurement Specialist to join Travel & CS team.
The incumbent will provide support to the business which contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable contracts and deliver optimal value to Rio Tinto.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Travel & CS, you will
Collects and generates domain knowledge and market analysis regarding the sources and drivers of value creation through purchasing.
Implements and present category strategies to Senior RTP leaders for endorsement.
Ensures sound category management processes are followed, project implementation methodologies are deployed and implementation is completed in accordance with RTP’s process, documentation and governance requirements. This will include processes such as negotiation, risk mitigation, change management and innovation.
Conducts and implements contract management (e.g.: contract execution, implementation, supplier reviews) for assigned contracts or arising from sourcing projects previously executed.
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A curious mindset with the ability to formulate and present business cases to strategic methodologies.
Strong knowledge of procurement practices and responsibilities.
A track record of stakeholder and supplier influencing.
Sound negotiation skills and demonstrated experience leading contract negotiations.
The ability to work both independently and productively as well as contribute to a strong team environment.
Financial or analytical skills would be a benefit.
Prior experience in corporate services/indirect categories will be beneficial
