We are looking for a highly skilled Specialist Cost to join our Resource Development team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost control, reporting, and governance across projects and programs. You will provide analytical insights, maintain cost systems, and support funding processes to enable informed decision-making and efficient project delivery

You’ll play a key role in delivering cost governance and reporting excellence for major projects. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly influence project success and business outcomes.

Reporting to the Superintendent Project Cost and Reporting, key responsibilities will include:

  • Build and maintain solid relationships with stakeholders across the business.

  • Ensure compliance with all policies, processes, and controls.

  • Support end-of-month cost processes and reporting routines.

  • Deliver scheduled and ad-hoc cost reporting for projects and programs.

  • Manage cost planning, control, and forecasting activities.

  • Maintain cost system accuracy and coding integrity.

  • Support Resource Development funding applications and APR processes.

  • Provide governance and guidance on key business processes (e.g., CEAs, IC submissions) and support JV approvals.

  • Take accountability for accurate and timely reporting across projects and programs.

  • Identify cost and schedule optimization opportunities and implement risk mitigation strategies.

What you’ll bring:

To be successfully considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in cost control, project reporting, and financial analysis.

  • Strong understanding of operational environments and productivity drivers.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.

  • Proficiency in SAP and business solutions systems; knowledge of RTIO systems (CPMS, SAP, CAPS) is advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of scheduling practices and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Contruent, Ecosys).

  • Competence in data analytics and cost control routines.

  • Ability to work in a high-pace role, managing deliverables whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation;

Where you’ll be working

In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.

This will be a Perth based role at our Central Park office in Perth CBD.
