About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Cost Estimating, you will provide specialist advice and execute tasks in the development and maintenance of cost estimates for a defined scope of work, while enabling the conversion of cost estimates into control budgets.
Responsibilities include:
- Develops the estimate development methodology and schedule for the cost estimate or parts of a cost estimate.
- Provides cost estimate expertise for the development of cost management related deliverables and ensure that the estimate is developed to align with Control Budget creation requirements.
- Prepare cost estimates for total project and/or individual scope area of a project (may specialise on specific disciplines depending on skill set and expertise.).
- Maintains full traceability of the cost estimate to the input documents used in preparing the cost estimate and ensures consistency.
- Analyses and utilises engineering deliverables, scope of work, and other documents to develop estimate.
- Validates that the estimate is developed and supported by the minimum requirements appropriate to the class of estimate.
- Documents the basis of the estimate development including any assumptions, qualifications and exclusions cost estimate or parts of a cost estimate.
- Validates that all estimate development methodology requirements and accountabilities are clearly understood by all functions including 3rd party service providers.
- Provides cost-flow forecast input to Finance, Project Services Lead, or other members of the project leadership team.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following -
- Previous estimating experience in mining is essential.
- Preferable to have experience with major capital and/or decommissioning projects.
- Experience in Risk Probabilistic, Scenario Planning, Project economics all preferred.
- Strong facilitation, coordination, and communication skills are all required.
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex information to stakeholders including management, regulators, contractors and operations.
- Strong PC skills including the use of MS Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience with specialist software suites.
- Highly motivated and adaptable, able to adjust to changing schedules and priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment, to help secure understanding, ownership, and commitment to project activity timings.
