About the Role

Caval Ridge is in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.

Enterprise Mining Probabilistics (EMP) is a new and innovative approach to mine planning for stable, predictable business plan delivery. Its focus is on managing the critical paths in execution using a project management approach to reduce variability and increase bottleneck performance, delivering stable mining operations for BMA.

Reporting to the Critical Path Project Management (CPPM) Superintendent, the Specialist CPPM at Caval Ridge Mine will be responsible for the:

  • Management of the 24 hour mine plan;
  • Identification, scoping, plan generation and scheduling of Enabling Activities; and
  • Monitoring and management of compliance to Critical Path.

This role requires you to develop effective working relationships with the operational and short-term scheduling teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of the 24 hour plan and Enabling Activity plans and schedules.

Role will be 7/7 and offers FIFO/DIDO travel arrangements.Key responsibilities:

  • Identify, scope, generate plans and schedule Enabling Activities.
  • Generate and communicate the 24 hour plan in line with the mine plan and priorities
  • Ensure achievability of the 24 hour plan to enable long term plan stability.
  • Provide daily Enabling Activity updates to Mine Scheduling. 
  • Monitor and track completion of scheduled work, including escalation of plan variances.
  • Communicate and escalate deviation and impact to Critical Path.
  • Resolve roadblocks to Critical Path with Mine Scheduling and Execution teams.
  • Ensure Week Zero Change Forms are triggered in line with the Decision Rights TARP.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a strong understanding of the mine schedule, design concepts and pit strategy to ensure delivery of the plan. 
  • Monitor and manage plan performance using the PDCA cycle.
  • Coordinate stakeholders during unplanned events such as major weather events and large-scale plan disruptions. 
  • Identify, review, and complete appropriate improvement projects through pattern and trend analysis for improved plan performance.
  • Recording plan variability and the causes.

About You

  • Tertiary education in Engineering (Mining / Civil) is desirable along with previous experience in Mine Scheduling or Operations.
  • You must have communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.
  • A working knowledge of Deswik and/ or Vulcan, SPRY and Microsoft Office software packages is desirable.
