About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Cultural Awareness Training to lead Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Cultural Awareness Training design, execution and implementation together with the Learning and Development team. Reporting to the Superintendent Regional Framework Deed Project Delivery you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical subject matter expertise to influence business decisions related to Cultural Awareness Training.
- Developing the Cultural Awareness Training annual implementation plans for all sites across the Pilbara Mine Operations.
- Working with Traditional Owner Engagement Leads and Communities and Social Performance Business Partners to engage with key stakeholders including Traditional Owners, Traditional Owner Corporations and senior stakeholders across the business.
- Executing Cultural Awareness Training Improvement projects.
- Managing and monitoring the effectiveness of issue support related to the training programs.
- Providing input into RTIOs Cultural Awareness Training module design.
- Managing the scope of work, improvement opportunity analysis and conducting best practice research
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Significant experience working with Traditional Owners and/or Indigenous groups
- Broad background working in mining & resources, consulting, not for profit, Aboriginal Corporations or joint venture / contract management
- Significant cultural understanding and experience in developing culturally appropriate training and implementation programs
- Project management experience within a large scale organisation

This role will be based in Perth, Western Australia with site travel as required.
