Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Specialist – Culture & Communications is accountable for the implementation of the internal communications and culture strategy at Cadia Valley Operations.

You will ensure consistent, and professional communications are delivered to site in line with the Internal Communications Strategy and contribute to the development of a collaborative high performing organisational culture by building employee and organisational capability.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out consistent with Cadia’s Safety Management System. 
  • Manage Cadia’s internal communications.
  • Develop, maintain and implement an effective Internal Communications and Culture Strategy.
  • Provide sound and expert advice to senior managers on operational people matters, risks, issues and trends to keep managers informed and supported including coaching managers in relation to change management, engagement, and workforce planning issues.
  • Provide support to Cadia’s operational, professional and support teams to enhance communication tools on site and their use.
  • Support good community relations by liaising with the site and corporate external communication teams.
  • Use your expertise of all functions of HR and strategic HR project management to partner with the business and support a wide range of HR / people initiatives, including the site Diversity & Inclusion plan.
  • Diversity and inclusion planning and roll out of initiatives.

The role is highly flexible for the right individual. In addition, you will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and have the proven ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.

You will also possess the following:

  • Previous demonstrated experience in communication advisory roles, public relations, or community relations.
  • Experience in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite – highly regarded.
  • Qualification in event management – highly regarded.
  • Experience in the minerals and / or mining industry – highly regarded.
